Microsoft Office Live Meeting In this topic:Overview of Microsoft Office Live Meeting.

Microsoft® Office Live Meeting is an online meeting space which allows subscribers to meet with colleagues online. As a subscriber, you can collaborate in real time, even over long distances. Microsoft Office Live Meeting is hosted by Microsoft and accessed through the internet. To access the product, your organization must subscribe to the service and individual users must be provisioned as organizers within the Live Meeting system. Once provisioned, organizers may schedule and hold interactive web conferences.

Microsoft Office Live Meeting offers the following collaborative capabilities:

  1. Content Sharing. Live Meeting allows you to share multiple types of content, either by uploading a document into the Live Meeting system or through application and desktop sharing.
  2. Live Webcam Video. Live webcam video of participants is displayed alongside the presentation in one of two display modes.
  3. Handouts. Handouts in native file formats can be distributed before and during the meeting to make it easier for attendees to follow the presentation.
  4. Feedback. Presenters can obtain feedback from participants, such as “Proceed” or “Need help,” based on specific color codes.
  5. Always-On Shared Notes Pane. Every attendee can view and edit shared action items with this feature.
  6. Question & Answer Tool Pane. This feature allows attendees to virtually raise their hands to ask verbal or text questions.
  7. Content Review. Presenters are able to review the content without making it active for all attendees to view.
  8. Annotation Tools. Interactive tools include rich text, sophisticated shapes, flowcharts, fonts and colors.
  9. Virtual Breakout Rooms. Participants can break out into discussion groups for one-on-one training or subject matter drill down.
  10. Server-Based Recording. Live Meeting supports integrated audio and web recordings that synchronize the web and audio portions of the meeting for offline viewing.

PGi provides integrated audio services in conjunction with Live Meeting, including ReadyConference Plus, PremiereCall Auditorium and PremiereCall Event.
